WINDSOR, Australia and NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 5, 1997-- Memtec is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Claude Grunewald to oversee the integration and development of its acquired European subsidiaries outside of Germany. He is currently paying particular attention to Memtec's French operations which have lost money during 1997 and has prepared a plan for these operations to be brought to Memtec's Board meeting on August 8 for approval. This plan will be for the restructure of the loss making activities in France to ensure future ongoing profitability at that location.
Mr. Grunewald is French by birth, with more than 30 years of European business experience. He has worked in the textile, paper, food, pharmaceutical and Healthcare industries providing effective leadership for all business functions but particularly for Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing, R&D and Logistics.
He began his education in Mechanical Engineering at ICAM, Lille, and achieved a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University in the USA.
When asked about Mr. Grunewald's appointment, Mr. Denis Hanley, Memtec's Chairman, said that he was extremely pleased to welcome Claude to the Memtec team.
