COMETS EASILY ECLIPSE SUN.(SPORTS)

HOUSTON -- Tina Thompson scored 18 points to lead Houston to a 72-56 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Saturday night, the first time in more than a month that the Comets have won consecutive games.

After Taj McWilliams-Franklin's layup pulled the Sun to 41-40 early in the second second half, Houston (10-12) responded with a 10-0 run to break open the game.

Thompson and Sheryl Swoopes (15 points) each scored four points during the run for the Comets, who hadn't won consecutive games since mid-June.
